Parsley--Karpas

We eat parsley to connect ourselves to spring, to this green world. We dip it in salt water to remember the tears of sadness shed by people who experience oppression.

Together, we say:

Baruch atah adonai, eloheinu melech ha-olam, borei p'ri ha-adamah.
