According to the Agada, it is said that had our ancestors waited another minute before leaving Egypt, they would not have been saved. This is how I understand it: There was a moment of supreme daring, a moment of sudden crisis, when one rushes to save what one can, seizing and carrying a heavy load, aload that is beyond one's ordinary strength, without feeling its weight. Moments such as these do not recur. And it is our duty to preare for this moment: a moment of supreme daring.
