It might seem routine at this point to wash your hands. We've been washing our hands thoroughly for over a year now, singing the Happy Birthday song over and over to ensure we get the full 20 seconds. However, this time we are washing our hands without soap and just using water. Instead of disinfecting our hands, let's use this hand washing to cleanse ourselves from this past year of hardship. Feel free to think about all the things in this past year that you want to leave behind. Maybe it's the anxiety of going into the grocery store or constantly changing your face mask, never knowing which one is alright to wear and which one doesn't actually protect you. There is no prayer nessescary for this hand washing.

Let us purify ourselves from the things that tied us down last year, that held us in slavery, and instead wash away the anxieties as we prepare for the Spring and this Seder.
