Urchatz without a Bracha

This is the time in the Seder right before we eat the vegetables. We wash three times on the right, then three times on  the left.  Each time you hold the cup with the opposite hand.  You do not have to make a bracha when you wash your hands at this point in the Seder.

During the time of the Beit Hamikdash, people washed their hands before they ate vegetables that were wet, not only before they ate bread. We do urchatz during the Seder to express our hope that the Beit Hamikdash will be rebuilt soon.
