Prior to the Seder, we have asked everyone to bring to our virtual seder an item representing one of the traditional seder plate items below. What item represents richness, bitterness, renewal, endurance, to you? We also invite you to research and share with the group traditional interpretations of your item.

Please feel free to "show" your seder plate item via screenshare or camera and tell us about its meaning. We have listed the traditional seder plate items below:

Zeroa  - a roasted bone representing the richness of the sacrifice.

Maror - a bitter herb (usually horseradish) that reminds us of the bitterness of slavery.

Beitza - a boiled egg symbolizing rebirth

Karpas - renewal

Charoset - a sweet mix of apples, wine, and nuts which represents the mortar the Jews used to build and the endurance they displayed.
