The Shehechianu is said whenever we do anything for the first time, and tonight is the first time this constellation of humans is gathered together to celebrate the Seder. Each of us is here because we believe that every human deserves to be free, and with the Shehechianu we acknowledge this special space that we have created together.

Barukh atta Adonai Eloheinu melekh ha'olam she-heheyanu v'qiyy'manu v'higiy'anu lazz'man hazzeh.

Blessed is the Source, for giving us life, for sustaining us and bringing us to this time.
