The ten makkot helped the Jews get out of Mitzrayim which is what we are celebrating on Pesach. Because of the Ten Makkot, Paroah eventually allowed the Jewish people to leave Mitzrayim. He was the most afraid of the last Makkah which was Death of the Firstborn and he and his son were firstborns.

At my family's seder we do fun things for many different parts. For the ten makkot, we all sing "Ten Makkot", "Dam, tzfardeya....", "Frogs here, frogs there", and "Paroah in Pajamas in the Middle of the Night".

We also have finger puppets and sometimes masks with the different Makkot to really make it realistic.

When we are saying each of the Makkot in the haggada, we use our finger to take a drop of wine out the Kiddush cup for each Makkah.

Every year my mom says the same Dvar Torah about the Ten Makkot. The Haggada spends a lot of time counting out the Makkot. There are many different opinions from different Rabbis about how many Makkot there actually were (not just 10). The reason for this is that there is a Passuk in the Torah that says that whatever bad stuff and diseases Hashem did to Mitzrayim will never happen to the Jewish people. So we want to say that there were so many bad things to the Egyptians because then more bad stuff won't happen to us!
