On April 12, 2015, Freddie Carlos Gray, Jr., a 25-year-old man, was arrested by the Baltimore Police Department for possessing what the police alleged was an illegal switchblade. While being transported in a police van, Gray fell into a coma and was taken to a trauma center. Gray died on April 19, 2015; his death was ascribed to injuries to his spinal cord. The circumstances of the injuries were initially unclear; eyewitness accounts suggested that the officers involved used unnecessary force against Gray during the arrest — a claim denied by at least one officer involved.

In May 2015, Prince held his #Rally4Peace concert in Baltimore to raise money and awareness in the wake of Freddie Gray's death at the hands of the police. During the show Gray's family had the opportunity to meet and take pictures with Jay Z, Beyoncé, and Alicia Keys backstage. Prior to the meeting, Hov expressed his sadness in the situation, and said that his thoughts and prayers were with Gray's family during these tough times. The proceeds of the concert and Prince's recently released Baltimore tribute song are all going directly to a number of Baltimore youth charities.

We will now listen to a clip in remembrance of Prince and his untimely passing this week at the age of 57.
