When I feel love

I want to smile and hug

I feel happy inside

And full of love

I feel love when I cuddle my mummy

And when I see people I love

When I’m hugging somebody I feel love.

It’s good to hug.

***

When I feel angry

I want to go outside, to look at the world

I feel like a dinosaur, annoyed and tired and bored.

I feel angry when someone takes something from me

And when they tell me the code to the shed

When she tells me the colour of the Robin

When I already know.

And when my sister tells me to shut the window

I didn't want to

I like to look at the world.

***

When I feel calm

I want to hug somebody.

I want to sing.

I feel I could do anything, even hard things.

I feel calm when I’m sleeping next to my Mummy.

And when I’m in the bath.

When it’s warm.

And I’m walking and singing.

***

When I feel embarrassed

I want to disappear.

I want them all to go away.

I feel embarrassed when I’m new.

When people trick me.

And when I don’t know the answer.

Or forget how to do the monkey bars.
