It is at this point when we ask the youngest to read or sing the four statements.  The one question that we ask is “Why is this night different from all other nights?”  And, with that, we welcome all questions from all guests.  We ask, or answer, in a language understood to all.  At our table we include Yiddish, Spanish, Hebrew, English and Dr. Seuss-ish.

This is a table of asking and answering.

Here are my four questions:

  • How do I hear suffering?
  • How do I respond?
  • What is my responsibility?
  • What is my legacy?
