Thank you all for coming! This is now our third time hosting a seder and it means so much to celebrate with such wonderful friends. Tonight we're having a seder (dinner) for Passover, a holiday which celebrates freedom. Get ready to read some Hebrew (transliterations), eat yummy food, and get drunk (you're religiously obligated to have four glasses of wine) as we tell the story of the Jewish people's escape from slavery in Egypt. While the holiday itself is Jewish, the themes are global: we should count our blessings, pledge to work harder at freeing those who still suffer, and face any remaining obstacles--internal or external--in our own lives.

This seder should take about a half hour from start to dinner. We'll go around the table and take turns reading sections in this Haggadah (seder book). As we get started, get comfy! In ancient times, eating while lounging on a pillow or couch was a sign of freedom. Enjoy!
