Breaking the matzah

There are three pieces of matzah stacked on the table. We now break the middle matzah into two pieces. The larger piece is wrapped up, and at some point between now and the end of dinner it is hidden. This piece is called the afikomen, literally "dessert." After dinner, the guests will have to search for the afikomen.

The smaller piece is put back, between the two matzot. This smaller piece, along with the top matzah is what will be used for the “Motzi-Matzah” and “Korech”.

Imagine the broken piece of matzah and think to your self: What does Yachatz represent? Does it remind us of FREEDOM or SLAVERY?
