Reed will pour the water over my hands three times,  BUT w e will say no prayer.  Why no prayer, he may wonder? So that we can better hear. Hear what he may ask?  The traffic on Fairfax?  Skateboarders on Selma? The neighborhood dogs barking?  His tummy rumbling with hunger? We don't know what we will hear, but together we will listen and maybe close our eyes and feel the sound of the cool fresh water running between our fingers.  Then, senses awakened, we open our eyes and begin.
