Welcome
We gather now to tell the story of our liberation from Egypt as it is commanded, “You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread, for on this day I brought you out of Egypt. You shall observe this day throughout the generations.” (Exodus. 12:17)

In Hebrew, Egypt is “miztrayim,” literally “the narrow place.” This year, we each sit isolated within the narrow confines of our houses enduring a modern plague, but through the miracle of Zoom we are able to join with family and friends to break free—if only virtually—of our constraints.   As together we retell this journey from bondage to freedom, from darkness to light may it lift our spirits and ease our worries.

May the light of these candles illuminate a path towards a world restored to health and wholeness.
