We wash our hands in advance of eating the spring vegetable and to ritualistically cleanse our minds prior to the discussion of Passover. We are reminding to continue telling the story of exodus down to the next generation just as the water flows downward. We recall the stories of our biblical forefathers who washed the hands and feet of those who entered their tents, and the values of humility and kindness towards our neighbor.
