The Rabbis say that each of us is accompanied through his or her life by an Angel of Hope and an Angel of Memory. This beautiful duality is a metaphor for the Jewish soul.

The Angel of Memory allows us to be part of the shared legacy of our people which serves as our foundation and as a source of strength and wisdom. It is also a personal reservoir of our past, replete with joys and pains, promises and defeats.

The Angel of Hope enables us to have a vision of our future and focuses us on what can be and what needs to be done. It allows us to feel secure in the knowledge that our worst memories will not be reenacted, and the best of our memories and wishes can come true.
