[Sing] It's time to play the music, it's time to light the lights, it's time to tell the story of the Israelites! [spoken] Ahem, Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s time to get things started, on the most sensational, inspirational, celebrational journey of the year. Join Kermit the Frog, and all of our Muppet friends, as we tell the epic tale of the Jews' Exodus from Egypt!

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, the Jewish people were living as slaves in Egypt under the rule of an evil Pharaoh. But one day, a brave and fuzzy leader named Moses was called by God to lead the Jews out of Slavery in Egypt. Moses went to the Pharaoh and said, "Hi ho, let my people go!"But Pharaoh refused, and instead made their lives even harder. [In the voice on Count von Count from Sesame Street] So God sent one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, TEN plagues! Ah! Ah! Ah! The water turned into blood, frogs, lice, wild animals, and locusts roamed the land. Livestock fell to disease, the Egyptians suffered from boils, and darkness and hail fell upon the land.

But Pharaoh still refused to free the Jews. Until finally, God sent the worst plague of them all: the death of every firstborn son in Egypt. But before the last plague, Moses told the Israelites to mark their doorposts with lamb's blood, so that the angel of death would pass over their homes. That's why we call it Passover!

After this, Pharaoh finally agreed to let the Jewish people go. The Jewish people were so excited to leave Egypt that they left in a hurry. They didn't even have time to finish baking bread. They took only unleavened bread with them into the desert, where the sun hardened it into a cracker, called matzah. When they reached the Red Sea, Moses, with God’s help, raised his staff, parting the waters and allowing the Israelites to cross through on dry land.

The Muppets followed along as the Jewish people journeyed through the desert for 40 years, facing various trials and tribulations, such as hunger, thirst, and getting chased by a giant chicken (okay, it was actually the Egyptian army). Another time, they got lost and wandered in circles for days (oops, sorry Gonzo). Luckily, they had some furry and feathery friends to help them out. Miss Piggy used her karate skills to protect them from danger, while Fozzie Bear provided some much-needed comic relief (waka waka!). And when they got hungry, the Swedish Chef whipped up some delicious manna, while Animal played the drums to keep their spirits up.

Moses continued to lead them, and with God's guidance, they made it safely to the Promised Land. They danced and sang and celebrated with the Muppets, grateful for all the friends who had helped them along the way.

So that's the story of the Jews' Exodus from Egypt, brought to you by the Muppets, with a little help from God. To this day, we celebrate Passover to remember the hardships of the Israelites, and to celebrate their freedom. We eat matzah and other traditional foods, and read the story of Passover from the Haggadah.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaay! [wave arms like an inflatable tube man/air dancer.]
