What are 10 simple ways that we can fight oppression in our communities?

Meet people where they're at. Try to understand where others are coming from, citing their backgrounds, exposure, and their surroundings.

Challenge others to think critically about racism.

Do not speak for others unless they are not there to speak for themselves.

Acknowledge our privilege.

Avoid comparing oppression or discrimination of any kind.

Ask questions, but work on educating yourself; read as much as possible.

Do acts of civil disobedience .

Truly listen to others. Really listening to others is not easy and can take time to learn, and that is okay.

Challenge institutions and that status quo, especially our governmental and educational systems.

Speak up when your peers participate in racist or discriminatory conversation.
