Reckless Dreams

Leader: We gather for Passover for several reasons, not the least of which is an excuse to have 4 glasses of wine and a good meal. We gather because we are Jews, and friends of jews. We're here to honor great traditions and create new ones. We are here to remember the old story of the liberation of the ancient Hebrews from slavery in Egypt, and what that means to us now. We're here because even during times of great destruction, the world can also be good. We are here because, throughout history, we have endured oppression. We have also enjoyed freedom and power. We are here to remember all people – Jews and non-Jews – who are still struggling for their freedom. We're here because the fight to secure freedom for all people never stops, and starts with us.

Passover is the night for reckless dreams; for visions of what a human being can be, what society can be, what people can be, what history may become. -Rabbi David Hartman

In short, we are here to dream. Welcome!
