Here in rachtzah, we are not washing our hands as regular people after doing the dishes. Instead, we are greiving our ancestors and mourning them for what they had to go through. Since this is after the magid, we have just finished telling our story of how our strong ancestors went from slaves to strong; washing our hands and lifting them us to recognize the deliverance of the jews. Every step we took towards salvation is holy, which is why we raise our hands to rejoice this dignity.
