An Aramean attacked my ancestor, who went down to Mitzrayim,

and was a refugee there - few in number,

and became a nation there -

great, and powerful -

and growing...

The Mitzrim made us feel bad,

they oppressed us.

The subjected us

to harsh slavery...

And we cried out to Adonai,

the God of our ancestors,

and Adonai heard our voice

and saw our oppression

and our trouble

and the pressure on us...

And Adonai brought us

out of Mitzrayim,

with a strong hand

and with an outstretched arm

and with great fear

and with symbolic acts

and with wonders.
