Maggid is the telling of the story of Passover. There are 14 steps in the seder, and the Maggid is the 5th step. It begins with a recitation of a short paragraph called, "Hah Lachma Anya". This describes the matzah and then moves on to the four questions. The remainder is an extended answer to those questions. Among its highlights is the enigmatic section known as the Four Sons, which describes four types of children present at the seder and offers instructions as to how they should be taught the story of the Exodus. The Maggid is important to me because it allows me to really understand the meaning of Passover in better detail. The Maggid also explains the 10 plagues and how the story of Passover is meaningful to us Jews.
