The last form of toast is to just lift our glass as a sign of respect and thanksgiving. This last form of toast echoes the unforgettable scene at the end of The Goblet of Fire, when Dumbledore, as a token of respect for their heroism and sacrifice, raises his goblet, first to Cedric Diggory, and then to Harry. There is no hint of drinking here; Professor Trelawney and Winky the house elf are the series's cautionary tales for the dangers of alcohol. The toast, in both Hogwarts and Halakha, is about honor and tribute to those who deserve them.
