Host: We are going to conclude our Haggadah reading tonight with one more cup of wine and a blessing. This is our third, not our fourth, filling of the wine glasses. I trust you will all find a moment during dinner to pour or top off your wine glass at least one more time to fulfill the tradition of the four cups of wine.

This time, I invite you to fill someone else’s cup to remind us that we have so much to share with one another and with our community.

Baruch Atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melech ha-olam, borei p’ree hagafen.

Blessed are You God, Spirit of the universe, who creates the fruit of the vine.

Tonight, we joined in an unbroken chain with our ancestors and our ancestors’ ancestors in commemorating this sacred meal, remembering that we were once in bondage and now are liberated. We are grateful. We remember those who came before us and we lovingly envision those who will come after. We stand against the enslavement of any living beings. We know that we are not free while others suffer in bondage.

This last cup of wine celebrates the future and we say: We will celebrate again, next year, in our promised land!
