Karpas

Karpas is dipping the celery into the salt water. This green vegetable represents spring, aviv because another name for Pesach is Chag Ha Aviv. Aviv is a time for new begininnings. Each and every Jew should take advantage of this holiday to restart and have a fresh beginning just like our nation had a new beginiing away from slavery and into freedom. Every Jew has the chance to become free of whatever is holding them back nd began a fewsh start of growth and progress.

We recite the following:

 בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יי אֱלֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, בּוֹרֵא פְּרִי הָאֲדָמָה

Blessed are You, Lord, our God, Ruler of the universe, who creates the fruit of the earth.
