In 2010, my family and I were temporarily re located to a new city and state due to my work. I felt lost and guilty that I had led my family into a time of wandering the wilderness. I was a very reluctant leader and thought about how Moshe must have felt, with so much responsibilities on his shoulders. Around this time, Lada Gaga's song Speechless was at the top of the charts. Her original song was written to convince her father to undergo open heart surgery and his reluctance to move forward on that battle.

I wanted to write something that was not a parody, but much more sincere. I write it from the point of view of Moses, first confronting G-d about the commandment he has received, then as he confronts Pharoh, back to G-d, questioning again, and finally letting his faith carry him through.

I'd love to hear any feedback

You threw your flames up. The bush won’t burn out, won’t burn out

I can't believe what you said to me. I couldn’t look you in your eyes

F Em Am

I’ve gotta lead us out of bondage, To the promised land oh my

Am E Em F C

Could you free us from this yoke? Or will my tribe think it’s a joke?

C Em Am G F

I'll have to leave again, Oh Lord you've left me homeless

Raise my staff and cross to the other side, through the sea of reeds
