Eight Days a Year

Modified by Patty Glatt, 2011

(Sung to the tune of "Eight Days a Week" by The Beatles)

Around the Seder table

we gather every night,

To retell about the Hebrews
And their awful plight.
Ten plagues they endured
Until their freedom they secured.
That's why we celebrate Pesach
Eight days a year.

Eight days a year
We don’t eat Hametz.
Eight days a year
No pasta, pilaf on our plates!

We hide the afikomen
In a hidden place.
Children rush to find it,
Delight upon their  face.
A silver dollar they secure
For such a long time to endure
As we conclude our Seder
Eight days a year!
