4th Cup:

We drink this fourth cup to honor the fourth promise from God:  to take us and make us a people.  It’s a cup of hope, a cup celebrating the communal nature of our Jewish lives – and now everyone’s lives.  The irony of the present:  in our apartness, we have become deeply conscious of the need for togetherness.

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ, אֱלֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, בּוֹרֵא פְּרִי הַגָּפֶן

Baruch Atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melech ha-olam, borei p’ree hagafen.

We praise God, Ruler of Everything, who creates the fruit of the vine.
