V'Hi GAD TA LI BINCHA  means: "You shall teach your children" and is the root word for the more familiar "HAGGADDAH" which primarily consists of telling the Passover story to the next generation. The same Hebrew root has another meaning which is to bind, join and connect. What is the connection between telling a story and joining together? By recounting the story of the Exodus, we are doing more than recalling events that occurred long ago, we are connecting one generation to the next.
