The 10 plagues were very crucial in getting us out of Egypt. Since Pharaoh would not let us go. Hashem turned all of the Egyptians water to blood. Pharaoh's heart hardened and still wouldn't let us go. Even after frogs, lice, beasts, disease of cattle, boils, hail, locusts, and darkness, he still would not let us go. Finally, Hashem sent the plague of the death of the first born. Since Pharaoh's son died in that plague, he let the Jewish people go. Since this happened, we commemorate this by dipping a finger in wine anddipping it 10 times on a napkin for the 10 plagues.
