Untold stories:

I am living while I'm living to Adonai I will pray
Only One know how we get through everyday
All the hike in the price
Arm and leg we have to pay
While our leaders play

All I see people a rip and a rob and a rival
Tief never love fe see tief wid long bag
No love for the people who a sufferin bad
Another toll to the poll may Yah help we soul
What is to stop di youth from get out of control
Full up of education yet no on no payroll
The clothes on my back have countless eyehole
Could go on and on and the fool has never been thrown

I am living while I'm living to the Adonai I will pray
Only One knows how we get through everyday
All the hike in the price
Arm and leg we have to pay
While our leaders play

Who can afford to run will run
But what about those who can't, they will have to stay
Opportunity a scarce, scarce commodity
In these times I say, when mama spend her last and send you go class
Never you ever play
It's a competitive world for low budget people
Spending a dime while earning a nickel
With no regards to who it may tickle
My cup is full to the brim
I could go on and on the full has never been told
I could go on and on the full has never been told
I could go on and on the full has never been told

Maggid - Beginning

(Break middle matzah)

If we are ever asked "why do you celebrate Pesach?" Reflect and respond "because once we were slaves in Egypt, and now we are free."

Why is tonight different from all other nights?

Why on other nights do we eat unleavened and leavened bread, but tonight we eat only unleavened bread? ( When we left egypt, we were in a hurry. There was no time to allow the dough to rise.)

Why on other nights do we eat all types of herbs, but tonight we eat only bitter herbs? (As a reminder of the bitterness of slavery)

Why on othernights do we not dip vegetables even once, but tonight we dip twice? (As a symbol of the sweat and tears of our ancestors)

Why on other nights do some eat sitting or reclining, but tonight we all recline? (As a symbol of freedom)

For a wise child - explain the story of passover

For a simple child - explain the story slowly. Pieces at a time.

For a silent child - explain the story with care

For a difficult child - explain with patience

-- Exodus Story

The tradition passed down says in ancient times we were slaves in Egypt. Pharoah, king of Egypt, ruled the land with an iron fist. We cried out for help and behold our cry was answered. The land brought 10 plagues upon our oppressors. We escaped in haste and we used all we had, matzah, for energy to embark on the journey out of the land of our oppressors. The sea of reeds parted and we crossed on dry land. We wandered 40 years in the desert while we prepared to enter the land of Israel. We ate manna and then there at Har Sinai we received the Torah.

Baruch ata YHWH, notayn ha-Torah

Blessed are You, Source of all life, giver of the Torah

-- Ten Plagues

Plagues, darkness and death consumed the land of Egypt. Evil which was sanctioned by the ruling power led to much destruction in the land in those days, and it still occurs in our time. Wine has been seen as a symbol for joy for many cultures and the same is true within Jewish culture. As such, for the sake of our re-telling, we remove some of our wine as our joy is loss in remembering such destruction. Though we must always be prepared to defend ourselves from enemies who would wish us harm...we must remember that all humans were made in the image of our Creator. So with this in mind we remove drops of wine for:

* blood * frogs * lice * wild animals * disease * boils * hail and fire * locusts * darkness * death
