When we dip our greens into the salt water we remember our ancestors tears. But, we should also remember everyone's tears. We should remember everyone who has suffered.

We were slaves to Pharaoh in Mitzraim.

God brought us out from there with a strong hand and outstretched arm.

Had the Holy Blessed One not brought our ancestors from Mitzraim,

We, our children, and our children's children would still be enslaved to Pharaoh in Mitzraim.

And, even if we are all wise, all of great understanding, all sages, all versed in Torah, it is our mitzvah to tell of  Yetziat mitzraim.

The more we tell of  Yetziat mitzraim, the more it is to be praised.

The Israelites were in the in the wilderness, eating quail and manna. They wandered from Egypt to the promised land in Israel . They wandered through the hot desert for 40 years and when they came to the promised land they found that there were other people living there and then they kicked them out of the land because god told them it was it was their land and it belonged to them :(  :(   :(   :(   :(

Refugees now have it different than people who used to come to Ellis Island.  The people who came to Ellis Island sometimes traveled in lousy boats, they were unsanitary, but they were welcome when they landed.  Refugees now sometimes come in really unsafe boats, and there are a lot of people now who don't want them because they think refugees are dangerous.

The Similarity's and differences between the Exodus story and refugees.

Similaritiy's

  • The Israelites came to Israel considering it was the promised land, a fresh start, a step towards freedom. Most refugees also come to America for the exact same reason.
  • Both groups didn't just come home from work and get offered by a bus to get to go to a new country, the refugees are enslaved (the Israellites),and were very damaged, (the current refugees), but most of them ran away in the end.
  • Everyone of them is just a human, like anyone that was excluding them.

Differences

  • The Israelites were freed, the current refugees ran away.
  • The are coming from different places.
  • The journeys are different.

mira

These are pyramids. The slaves made the pyramids. The pyramids look good.   Pharaoh had them built, they symbolize that he is in charge and wealthy.  But, the slaves worked hard.   It took a long time.  The pyramids symbolize how they were not wealthy or powerful.

The similarity of the refuges and the Israelites leaving there home land and not knowing the language or which job they can go  get a home and food which get purchased from money and the money is hard to get

refugees compared to Bnei Isreal?

observations,

Bna'i Israel was a more miracle type journey and it was dangerous and ''God saved them''.

Refugees are similar  to this because they can't give up or go back and they both left because of terrible authority. But over all they have very similar journeys and stories.

Poem

                                      Walking

                               Towards the light

Don't know when it will end

Don't know where you will end up

you look at the endless hills

                                        Will it End?

This is a picture of Somalian refugees, at a refugee camp, in a dessert in Kenya, Getty. This relates to Passover, because, the refugees have a hard journey, and so did the Israelites.

Moses flees from Egypt to Midian

Out of fury, Moses kills a slave master. Later someone tells him that he saw him kill the slave master. Moses flees from Egypt, leaves everything behind, and escapes with his life. He finds a new life without too much trouble, but some refugees have a lot of trouble restarting their life.

Maror
Maror

When we eat Maror, we are supposed to be reminded of what our ancestors felt like in slavery. But can we ever really experience that? Can we ever really know what it feels like without experiencing it our selves?
